Professional Background
Valerie Spivey Danzy is a multifaceted professional with extensive experience in music, media, ministry administration, business operations, and entrepreneurship. Known for her organizational strength and ability to bring order to complex situations, she has worked behind the scenes in a variety of roles to improve efficiency, support leadership, and help organizations operate with excellence. Media and Communications Experience With many years of experience as a Gospel radio announcer and producer, Valerie has developed a strong foundation in broadcasting, communications, promotions, and public relations. She studied Mass Communications at the University of Arkansas, with emphasis in Broadcasting, Journalism, and Speech Communications. Her professional background includes voice talent work for both secular and faith-based broadcast productions, as well as speaking and lecture opportunities across various denominations and ministry settings. Her work in media and promotions has included supporting and promoting nationally recognized Gospel artists such as Yolanda Adams, Karen Clark-Sheard, Gregg “Happy Guitar” Haynes, Vickie Winans, and others. She has also provided background vocals for respected Gospel artists including Kim Burrell, James Moore, Timothy Wright, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Dorinda Clark-Cole, James Hall, and many others. Valerie continues to expand her communications work through podcasting and digital media. She can be heard on platforms such as Spotify, Apple, and other podcast venues through projects including MarVal Ministries, featuring Elder Mark Danzy and Valerie Danzy, and Petty and Particular, a conversational comedy show featuring YouTuber Rambling Kai and Valerie Danzy. Leadership and Administrative Service As a licensed Evangelist, a Certified Minister of Music from the Church of God in Christ, and experienced administrator, Valerie serves her local church as an Executive Ministry Coordinator, overseeing multiple departments and supporting effective ministry operations. Within the International Music Department of the Church of God in Christ, she serves as Assistant to IMD Vice President Rosalind Sanders Jones and as an Executive Board Member for the Southern Region. Her administrative experience also includes service as an Administrative Support Staff member in the office of the International Minister of Music, Dr. Judith C. McAllister. She has previously served as Jurisdictional Commissioner of Communications and Jurisdictional Minister of Music for Arkansas Second Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ, gaining recognition at both local and national levels within the Gospel music community. Entrepreneurship and Business Operations KayStephan Diversities, LLC, featuring The Answer Salon by KayStephan, MarVal Ministries, and KayStephan Media, reflects Valerie’s entrepreneurial vision and broad professional skill set. Raised in a family of entrepreneurs, she brings practical experience in corporate and entrepreneurial business implementation, bookkeeping, clerical support, human resources, operations, and management. Having been self-employed for most of her adult life, Valerie understands the discipline, flexibility, and leadership required to build and sustain business ventures. Her experience equips her to train, mentor, and support aspiring entrepreneurs, musical artists, and women seeking to grow professionally. As a licensed Cosmetologist, Valerie also brings creative expertise in imaging, makeup, and hair. Her stylist services have supported photo shoots, musical events, and theatrical performances, allowing her to combine business, artistry, and presentation with professional care. Personal Values Beyond her professional work, Valerie is the wife of Elder Mark Danzy, daughter of Supervisor Donna and Deacon Larry Robinson, granddaughter of Bishop Donne and Madame Irma Lindsey, and mother of September Savage and Domonique Danzy. She values faith, family, continued learning, creativity, service, fellowship, and meaningful connection with others.
